Why we charge on a per word basis.
For translations involving Slovak, agencies often charge based on Czechoslovak standard pages (1800 characters including spaces) and some agencies now use EU standard pages (1500 characters excluding spaces). The client often gets a nasty surprise when they discover that these "pages" are only about half-pages compared to a page in MS Word (3000-4500 characters depending on font size etc.) and the job is more expensive than they expected. That's why we charge based on the number of words in the original text, so that our prices are as transparent as possible for the client. You can check the number of words in MS Word. We are not VAT registered.
